Introduction to Healthy Living and Brain Health

This 2 hour class introduces adolescents and adults to basic, research-based ideas, about a healthy lifestyle: nutrition, exercise, relaxation/mindfulness, social connection, and brain learning.

Mindfulness and the Art of Living 

Class Description  

10:00 to 10:20 seated mindfulness session 
10:20 to 10:40 self-guided stretching and mindfulness practice questions
10:40 to 11:00 seated mindfulness session
11:00 to 11:40 the art of living presentation and discussion
11:40 to 12:00 closing activity

The Art of Living 
I hold and carry many ideas related to the art of living well. Some come from my own reflections and experiences. Some come from my readings from ancient philosophy or evolutionary biology. Some come from writings and teachings on mindfulness. I weave these many ideas into my practice as a psychologist. 
    In these classes we will practice mindfulness together and discuss our practice. I will also present ideas that I am calling The Art of Living. Hopefully, these ideas will enrich your understanding of your mindfulness practice and also contribute to your good life.

When Five Saturday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. December 14, January 11, February 8, March 14, April 11 (2019-2020)

Saturday, November 9th, 10:30-12:00 pm

Cost: $15 (cash or check only payment due at time of group)

individual sessions may also be scheduled

A one session class intended for adults or parents of children with attention and behavioral issues. We will discuss ways to help with focus and manage behavior by exploring exercise, relaxation and very importantly nutrition and gut health. Research is clearly showing that these non-medication approaches can be very powerful in lessening ADHD symptoms, assissting with sleep and improving life satisfaction functioning.

Behavior Change Group (A Monthly Support Group)


Lead by Dr. Pam Lockwood, Dr. Michael Wizer, or Dr. Sheila Cohen

Cost: $15 per group meeting

This 90 minute group is designed as a support group for those folks who are making behavior and lifestyle changes in order to support their health. Every meeting will offer an opportunity to talk about lifestyle changes, and the challenges we face in making those changes. Groups will be structured to offer support, encouragement, and guidance in making positive changes.
